Welcome Back!
Dear Parents, Guardians, Partners, and Students:
The school year has begun and we are honoured that you have chosen Bronte College for your child as they prepare to study and meet their future educational goals. Our teaching staff will work closely with each student and their parents to ensure the best academic experience. This year, Bronte College has made changes to the school year calendar to enable students to graduate at the end of December. Some students will be able to apply for university programs that have start dates in January.
The teaching staff have made materials for all courses available online. Students are able to access assignments, lessons, supporting materials, assessment information, and due dates for assignments. Our additional support for students is a wonderful asset, especially if they require review of daily lessons or clarification of assignments. Students can also access additional support through our peer tutoring program and evening study hall sessions.
Bronte College academic staff continues to work closely with the other departments in the school, such as residence life, to ensure students’ welfare. Dr. Gouda, our Head of Student Governance, oversees student behaviour and the well-being of our students in residence and homestay programs. It is important for parents to keep Dr. Gouda informed of times and dates when your child may be away from classes or returning home for a visit. Permission must be granted prior to the student’s absence. Dr. Gouda can be contacted at ngouda@brontecollege.ca.
The Bronte College Parent Portal makes it easy for parents to view student marks as well as student attendance. If you do not have the information needed to access the portal, please send an email to IT@brontecollege.ca and an access code will be sent to you. This is a wonderful way to keep track of your child’s progress.
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your child’s education. We look forward to working with you throughout this new school year to help your child meet their goals.
Sincerely,
Diane Finlay
Head of School
