September Newsletter 2017 – Head of School Message

October 2, 2017

Diane FinlayWelcome Back!

It’s September and school is back in full swing. Students are settling into their classes and many are already researching the universities of their choice. We are pleased to have so many wonderful students who have chosen Bronte College for their pre-university studies.

I wanted to take this opportunity to review a few important dates and information that will assist your child as they make key decisions about their future. At Bronte College, we strive “to develop internationally minded lifelong learners who have the knowledge and courage to make a positive difference in the world.” We want your child to be able to achieve their personal best and to assist them, we ask that they work closely with the guidance department to research and prepare for their university program. Proper planning and meeting deadlines will be crucial for ensuring that all documents are received by the universities to which they are applying.

October 11th Interim Report Cards Issued (This is the first evaluation of your child’s initial progress at Bronte College.)

October 24th and 25th Bronte College University Fair (Universities from across Canada, the United States and Britain come to the school to enable students to research programs and admission requirements.)

November 8th Midterm Report Cards Issued

November 23rd Mock Literacy Test (For all students who are in grade 10 or who must write the Ontario Literacy Test in April. This Mock Test allows us to establish which students may have difficulty passing the test. Additional support and courses will be provided to assist them in preparing for the test in April.)

December 22nd to January 5th Holiday Break

Please contact our guidance department should you have any further questions.

We look forward to working with your children and helping them to reach their goals.

Diane Finlay,
