Summary of essential job functions
· Provide the best education for students with active, innovative, dedicated, creative and enthusiastic teaching methods.
· Lead by example for students to follow with professional behaviours.
Key Accountabilities/ Activities
- Teach the assigned course (MCR3U) with evidence of active teaching and learning in classrooms and labs.
- Use of SMARTBoards in teaching methods and other technologies.
- Prepare course material including lesson plans, tests, quizzes, exams, reference material for use in class, and other related material used for student learning in accordance with the Ministry of Education guidelines.
- Maintain and update course outlines as necessary.
- Maintain own course or class websites.
- Ensure related staff is aware of notable student issues.
- Communicate information with guidance staff (i.e. attendance, emotional issues, etc.).
- Communicate very serious student issues with the Head of Student Governance or Head of School.
- Ensure the safety of students during class and related field trips.
- Follow field trip procedures; ensure students are dressed appropriately and always safe.
- In the classroom for the entire duration of an assigned class.
- Ensuring students are in class for the duration of the period.
- Report all safety concerns to the Head of School or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Exam supervision as scheduled.
- Collect textbooks and other course material that students return.
- Ensure students are abiding by the Bronte College Code of Behaviour at all times.
- To complete any additional duties assigned by the Head of School
Minimum Requirements
- University Degree or College diploma in related course teachable background
- Ontario College of Teachers certified and in good standing.
- Experience with adolescents in a teaching setting.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Experience using a SMARTBoard.
- Experience using a computer and computer applications.
Math and Marketing Teacher for China

Bus Driver
We are currently looking for a school bus driver who wants consistent and full-time hours and who can do other jobs when not driving.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operating the school bus.
- Shuttle homestay students in the morning from the homestay to school if required.
- Transport students using a school bus for field trips, activities, airport pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Perform general helper tasks as required (example: shovelling snow, salting sidewalks, covering front desk receptionist as needed, re-stocking vending machines, etc.)
- Maintenance of the school bus.
- Responsibilities on the road.
- Environment and physical demands.
- Zero tolerance regarding alcohol consumption during work hours.
- Ensure that all legal documents and licenses are up-to-date.
Working Conditions:
- Hours of work: as per schedule, holidays, evenings and weekends might be required.
- Ability to lift or move heavy equipment or objects of 50lbs.
- 20 to 44 hours per week.
- Ability to handle work environment including strong odours/smell and variable temperatures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Highschool Diploma
- Valid B or BZ driver’s license required.
Reporting:
- This position reports in to the Transportation Manager.
