Ideal candidates will be available on short notice. Typically called at 6:30am for the morning of the day and 10:00am for the afternoon. Please note this is a casual position.

You will possess the following requirements:

  • Ontario Teacher Certification is an asset.
  • PYP OR MYP trained an asset.
  • Available on short notice.
  • High level of technology skills and experience with the implementation of SMART Technology.
  • Excellent command of the English language.

Position:Teach in China – High school Math & Marketing Teacher

We are looking for a High School Math & Marketing teacher for our partner school in Zhengzhou, China

Contract Length: 1 year (starting in February 2020)

As a Cook you will:

  • Rotate food refrigerators, places and stores food in clean containers.
  • Prepare food items in designated areas in accordance with standards of quality, technique, quantity control, taste and presentation as established by the Head Chef.
  • Anticipate and prepare for menu requests (e.g. special diets, allergies, etc.).
  • Responsible for meals, salad bar preparation and desserts.
  • Assist in monthly inventory counts.
  • Prevent the spoiling and contamination of food.
  • Check food for taste, smell, temperature and eye appeal.
  • Assist in inspecting the delivery of food to ensure quality and quantity.
  • Monitor refrigerated and dry storage goods inventory levels daily.
  • Assist in the preparation of special food items requests.
  • Assist with dishwashing duties.
  • Report equipment, malfunctions to the Head Chef.
  • Maintain the work area in a safe and neat manner.
  • Participate in the nightly kitchen cleanup.
  • Minimize accidents by ensuring applicable health and safety standards are understood and applied in the conduct of all work activities.
  • Comply with company policies regarding schedules, uniforms, absenteeism and tardiness.
  • Follow company rules and regulations.
  • Ensure a full understanding of all Bronte College policies and procedures, which pertain to your work.
  • Maintain company personal appearance and grooming standards.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Practice safety standards and report all unsafe conditions to your immediate supervisor.
  • Keep your work area well organized and clean in order to provide fast and efficient service.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Chef.

Working Conditions:

  • 7am to 2pm (Morning Shift); 12pm to 8pm (Evening Shift)
  • Working on public holidays is required.
  • Frequent irregular hours.
  • Ability to lift or move heavy equipment or objects of at least 30 pounds.

Compensation:

  • Salary $16.00 – $18.00 depending on experience and performance.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package after 3 months (for full-time employees)

You will possess the following requirements:

  • High school diploma in a related field.
  • Strong English communication skills a must
  • Peel region Food Handler Certification Course required
  • Experience is an asset

As a Cleaner, you will:

  • Oversee the cleanliness of the building and student residence.
  • Wipe and dust office desks, chairs, blinds and other building furniture and fixtures.
  • Sweep, vacuum and mop floors throughout the building.
  • Thoroughly clean showers and washrooms on the main floors and student residence.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling waste.
  • Properly utilize all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Scrub various surfaces, such as tile and carpet.
  • Wax floors and clean carpets as required.
  • Assist with emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours of work: 40-42 working hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
  • Monday to Friday work shifts occur between 6am and 10pm
  • Weekend work shifts are from 8am to 4pm.
  • Ability to lift or move equipment or objects up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to handle work environments with strong odours/smells.
  • Able to stand, walk, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
  • Uniform required.

Compensation:

  • $14.00 per hour.
