As a high school teacher, you will:

  • Teach Math/Marketing to motivated students

Working hours

Job summary

  • To work closely with the Admissions Manager in carrying out the policies and procedures for recruiting and admitting day students.
  • To communicate with parents, agents and prospective day students.
  • To ensure that all applications are completed and documents secured.
  • To enter appropriate student data into Maplewood as directed and to forward files to the appropriate departments in a timely fashion.
  • To arrange for parent/student tours, testing and interviewing of all potential day student applicants.
  • To work closely with the Principal of the school when processing applications for day students.
  • To assist with scheduling admissions related appointments.
  • To assist in the preparation and updating of the agent handbook.
  • To assist in the preparation and updating of all admission packages.
  • To assist in the organization of the Orientation Day for new students.
  • To attend and assist at local fairs.
  • To attend and assist at open houses.
  • To assist with marketing research as assigned.

Summary of essential job functions

  • To assist and support the Admissions Manager in carrying out his/her duties.
  • To maintain updated, well-organized systems for admitting and tracking day students.
  • To offer high quality service to the students and families who apply to Bronte College.

Minimum requirements

  • A post secondary school diploma at the College level.
  • Experience in a Private or Independent school setting preferred.
  • Well organized, outstanding communication skills, professional manner and presentation.
  • High level of computer skills and experience with word processing, data management and spreadsheets.

Abilities required

  • Outgoing, resourceful and flexible regarding working hours.

Hours of Work

  • Weekdays 8:00am to 4:00pm (Mon -Fri); evening and weekend hours may be required for staff meetings and gatherings.

Job Summary

  • Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and caring environment for all students living in residence.
  • Be regularly visible and available for assigned residence/house.
  • Assist with organizing, leading and attending residence activities and trips and events.
  • Ensure that the residence is secure and the students are abiding by the Bronte College Code of behaviour at all times.
  • To coordinate the delivery of all residence services to students to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Respond to the needs of students and promote a positive and friendly atmosphere in the residence.
  • Available and on call 24/7 when assigned.
  • Organize and chair weekly floor meetings.
  • A member of residence committees.
  • Maintain informal contact with students about academic progress, personal concerns and make appropriate referrals.
  • Bring or ensure an adult is with students at health clinics and hospitals when needed.
  • Liaise with school nurse regarding student injuries or illnesses.
  • Liaise with maintenance and cleaning staff with student concerns, residence conditions and room preparedness.
  • Liaise with parents when required.
  • Assign rooms and maintain a current Room Allocation List of room allocations.
  • Ensure that weekly room inspections have been carried out.
  • Assist with home stay resources when required.
  • Schedule resources and perform airport pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Trained in the fitness centre equipment usage and safety.
  • Front desk duties when sitting at the front desk.
  • Airport pickups and drop offs
  • To complete any additional duties assigned by Senior Management.

Working Conditions

  • Hours of work: 37.5 per week (Full-Time) or 22.5 hours(Part-Time); normal working hours are evening and weekend.
  • Frequent irregular hours.
  • Overnight retreats are a requisite of the position.
  • Available and on-call 24/7 for emergencies when assigned.
  • Ability to lift or move heavy equipment or objects of 20lbs.

Compensation

As a Cook, you will:

  • Rotate food refrigerators, places and stores food in clean containers.
  • Prepare food items in designated areas in accordance with standards of quality, technique, quantity control, taste and presentation as established by the Head Chef.
  • Anticipate and prepare for menu requests (e.g. special diets, allergies, etc.).
  • Responsible for meals, salad bar preparation and desserts.
