Administrative Assistant (Full-Time)

Bronte College Summer Camp offers a language study and tour program for youths aged 10 to 17 to learn English through communicative activities, watching and discussing TV shows, the news, reading and talking about current events, and practicing writing. Ensuring campers improve their English and have a safe and exciting stay is the top priority. Summary of essential job functions:

  • To ensure that parents, students and visitors receive a warm welcome to Bronte College and receive immediate attention and service when referred to the Business Office.
  • To support the clerical needs of the Business Office and Academic Administration

Job summary:

  • To welcome students requiring assistance with non-academic concerns
  • To assist with Orientation of new students during registration
  • To create or update ID cards, room cards and parking permits for students and staff
  • To assist with student Visas, Certification letters and Study Permits
  • To process student health insurance forms
  • To ensure that all students are equipped with the proper uniform
  • Inventory, order and distribute student uniforms.
  • To oversee the consumable and textbook ordering
  • To maintain the information in the Meal-Plan system
  • To maintain staff information: prepare and edit Staff lists, contact numbers, extensions, e-mail addresses and label staff mailboxes etc.
  • To maintain photocopier, distribute faxes
  • Prepare and distribute report cards and transcripts as required and requested.
  • Create/post/make announcements (TV, PA System, posting boards).
  • Communicate with parents – telephone, email, mailings of invitations, RSVP’s, letters, etc.
  • Participate in/take minutes at administrative meetings as required.
  • Appointment booking and scheduling for staff when necessary.
  • To prepare transcripts and documentation for graduated student
  • To cover the front desk when required
  • To complete duties as assigned by Senior Management

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post Secondary diploma in a relevant field
  • Experience as a receptionist in a school setting or large office
  • Excellent word processing skills, experience with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent command of the English language

Abilities required:

  • Outgoing, resourceful and a team player
  • Able to multi-task and respond calmly in times of stress
  • Flexible regarding working hours

As a Kitchen Helper, you will:

  • Assists kitchen staff in food preparation before and after meal times.
    • Serving during meal times.
    • Aids in completing weekly inventory for order requirement.
    • Prevents the spoiling and contamination of food during meal times.
    • Assists with stewarding duties (dish washing).
    • Cleaning of the cafeteria area prior, during and after meal times.
    • Minimizes accidents by ensuring applicable health and safety standards are understood and applied in the conduct of all work activities.
    • Comply with company policies regarding schedules, uniforms, absenteeism and tardiness.
    • Follow company rules and regulations.
    • Ensure a full understanding of all Bronte College policies and procedures, which pertain to your work.
    • Maintain company personal appearance and grooming standards.
    • Conduct yourself in a professional manner to ensure high customer satisfaction.
    • Practice safety standards and report all unsafe conditions to your immediate supervisor.
    • Keep your work area well organized and clean in order to provide fast and efficient service.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Head Chef.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Working on public holidays is required.
    • Ability to lift or move equipment or objects of at least 30 pounds.


    Shift Times:

    • Monday to Friday (Morning Shift 7am -2pm; Evening Shift 2pm to 10pm)
    • Have to work one of the weekend days either Saturday or Sunday)
    • Working on public holidays is required/
    • Starting at $14.00/hr
    • Comprehensive Benefits Package after 3 months (for Full-Time employees only)

You will possess the following requirements:

  • Ontario Teacher Certification is an asset.
  • PYP OR MYP trained an asset.

  • High level of technology skills and experience with the implementation of SMART Technology.
