Step 1: Decide which program is right for you.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma
A good candidate should have an average of at least 70-75% to be considered for admission. All applications are considered individually and on a case-by-case basis.
A note for international applicants where English is not their first language:
Currently, no prior English proficiency test results are required for applicants where English is not their first language. If the applicant is accepted to Bronte College, we will test them in-house and determine if their English proficiency is at a level where they must enroll in our Language Advancement Program.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12)
In order to qualify for the IBDP, we ask that students have an average of at least 80%, high English proficiency (IELTS 6.0+), demonstrate community involvement and engagement in extra curricular activities.
Advanced Placement Program (Grade 12)
To be considered for the AP Program, students should have at least 80% in their Grade 11 level of the subject they would like to take at the AP level. For example, if a student wishes to take AP Calculus in Grade 12, their Grade 11 Math grade should be at least 80% in order to qualify.
Our English Support offers customized ESL courses for students whose English proficiency ranges from Beginner to Advanced.
Our Express Program is for students entering Grade 12 who would like to complete all 6 pre-university courses from January to June to enter university in September in the same year.
Step 2: Decide which semester intake is right for you.
Bronte accepts applications for the following semesters: September, February and July. Please note that the 2018-2019 school year will have the following semester intakes: September, February and July.
Is There a Deadline to Submit My Application?
As a general guide, you should submit your application at least 3 months before the start of the semester you are applying for. This will take into account the time it takes to process student Visas, Study Permits and to ensure you have enough time to arrive before the semester begins.
How Early Should I Apply if I Want to Stay in Residence?
Staying in residence is a very popular preference for our international students. Students applying for the September semester with Residence accommodation should submit their application by early March to ensure space in Residence is still available. Be sure to contact our Admissions department directly to verify if space in Residence is open as availability varies from year to year!
What is the Application Deadline if I’m Interested in Homestay?
For students interested in Homestay accommodation for the September semester, you should submit your application by mid-July.
Submit Ahead of Schedule
Of course, we highly recommend that application submissions be made as early as possible, and well before the suggested deadlines. This allows us to serve you better at every step of your Bronte experience!
