Extra-Curricular

Beyond the Classroom.

Clubs & Athletics

We recognize the immeasurable value of education beyond the classroom, and offer supervised athletic activities and student clubs every day after school. As a member of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA), our students compete with other area schools in a variety of sports. We offer clubs, sports and activities based on student interest, so each semester’s extra curricular program is unique and engaging.

Art

Our Art Program covers a wide range of concepts and themes including Art History, the Elements of Art and Design, Media Literacy, Photography and Contemporary Art. We encourage students to let their cultural backgrounds inspire their work, creating an environment that is engaging, divergent in thinking and relevant.

Grades 9 and 10 students are introduced to Art History, as well as foundational elements and principles to understand how art has progressed through time.

Grades 11 and 12 students focus on material that is thematic in nature including Impressionism, Appropriation, Self-Portraits, Expressionism and Media Literacy.

Each year we host an Art Showcase highlighting exemplary artwork that demonstrates the techniques students have learned in the classroom. Art students also have the opportunity to attend field trips to various galleries, allowing them to make connections between exhibits and what they have learned throughout the course.

Prefect Council

Students in Grades 11 and 12 have the ability to apply for the Prefect Council. Prefects are expected to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, exemplary behavior and a desire to develop leadership skills. Students on the Prefect Council assist the administration by representing Bronte at open houses and school events. Prefects also organize a variety of student activities that unify the student body and create school spirit.
