Celebrating Excellence and Sports Awards At The Lower School Awards Ceremony

The Lower School Awards Ceremony was held last week, marking a meaningful conclusion to an incredible year of growth and achievement. We took this opportunity to celebrate our students’ hard work and dedication across various academic subjects. From math to literature, science to the arts, students demonstrated their talents and perseverance throughout the school year. We were also proud to recognize those who represented Bronte College at external events, including the GII Munk School Challenge at the University of Toronto. A highlight of the ceremony was a speech from Efti, who shared his enriching experience and encouraged younger students to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges. 

Beyond the classroom, students were acknowledged for their accomplishments in athletics. The wrestling team had an especially successful season, earning multiple medals at ROPSSAA and even advancing to OFSAA. The standout athletes were also recognized for their dedication and spirit. Damian and Bosco received the Athlete of the Year awards for their commitment, growth, and enthusiasm. Don Divin was honored with the Sports Leadership Award for his active involvement and strong sportsmanship across multiple events. His dedication embodies what it means to be a true athlete – competing with heart, integrity, and perseverance. 

We also celebrated students who achieved significant milestones outside of academics and sports. Congratulations to Nelly, Alandria, and Barackat for completing the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, and to Zaka, Emy, and Rosie for completing the Bronze level. In addition, we proudly announced Purple House as the winner of this year’s House Championship. Congratulations to all Purple House members and to Afolarin, their passionate leader, for bringing energy and teamwork to every house event. We are incredibly proud of all our students and their achievements – may they continue to shine brightly in all they do!
