Bridge to Wellness: Week One Highlights
A key component of the Junior Leadership Program is the Bridge to Wellness, a four-week initiative led by our dedicated school nurse, Nurse Lyndsey. Week one introduced students to the importance of hygiene and everyday wellness practices. Through hands-on learning, students gained practical tools they can apply immediately in their daily lives—skills that support both their health and confidence as young leaders. Week One was a great success with Nurse Lyndsey observing, “The students were receptive and engaged in the program! I was surprised at how interested they were to learn about how to improve their day to day living. They were most engaged in learning how their environment can directly influence their studies!
We talked about strategies to keep their rooms clean and organized- and how these skills are foundational when going to university. As well, we talked about how a clean space can improve physical and mental health.”
In the weeks ahead, students will explore topics such as mental health resiliency, nutrition, and substance awareness. They’ll also discuss strategies to stay balanced and mindful in today’s fast-paced digital world.
This program is a foundational learning experience for the Junior students to build life skills, understand how health is impacted day to day, and will ultimately give them a strong base for university.
