Students Embarked On An Adventurous Journey For The Duke Of Edinburgh’s Silver Award
Recently, our students, Emy, Barackat, Nelly, and Alandria embarked on an adventurous journey under the guidance of Ms. Cyr to complete their Silver Level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Over a weekend immersed in nature, the group honed practical life skills by preparing meals independently, engaging in fishing activities, and navigating outdoor activities. This camping experience fosters their self-reliance, teamwork, and adaptability. By merging adventure with personal development, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program equips young leaders with the tools to thrive in dynamic environments.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global youth program founded by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, that continues to empower young individuals to cultivate resilience, leadership, and community-mindedness. It is a non-competitive program, which is offered in over 130 countries to challenge participants to pursue self-directed growth through three progressive levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
The program focuses on developing life skills, initiative, self-reliance, perseverance, and leadership. They set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals and record their progress. In this program, there are four core components: skill development, community service, physical recreation, and an adventurous journey. Completed their adventurous journey, our students have earned the Silver Level of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, which is an incredible achievement that reflects their hard work and personal growth. Congratulations to Emy, Barackat, Nelly, and Alandria on reaching this remarkable milestone. This journey stands as a powerful testament to their dedication and the unwavering spirit they’ve shown throughout.
